The existing drains, consisting of DN100 pipes, were encased in concrete, and built within the walls and foundations. Access to the pipes was limited, adding complexity to the project.

    2. Differentiation between grey water and sewage lines for accurate relining.

Successfully Relining Failing Drainage Pipes

Project: Relining damaged DN100 downpipe

The Work:

Mr Damilano contacted Steyn’s Plumbing to assist with a unique case.

Unfortunately, the previous plumbing company installed a garden tap and accidentally drilled two holes in the DN 100 downpipe. After a consultation and site assessment, the cause of the problem was identified. Unfortunately, Mr. Damilano's bar area sustained damage due to high levels of rain, and time was crucial to repair the damaged pipe. A premium liner was used, followed by a calibration tube, as access was limited. 


The job was completed in one day and Mr Damilano was extremely satisfied with the outcome.

The inspection revealed broken pipes, fittings, and root penetrations in multiple sections.


    Given that Mr. Mutter resides in a dolomite area, time was crucial to complete the job. Steyn’s Plumbing successfully relined the drainage lines using the CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) method. Calibration tubes were utilized on selected lines, and ambient curing along with the Picote steamer was employed to ensure the job was completed efficiently.

Successfully Relining DN 100 Rainwater Downpipes

Client: Laeveld Agrichem
Location: Erasmus Rand, Pretoria, Gauteng


The Work:

Steyn’s Plumbing was contacted to assist with emergency repairs at Laeveld Agrichem. The existing rainwater downpipes needed urgent pipe relining and brush coating due to various external factors. 


CCTV footage revealed the state of the pipes, and it was decided to rehabilitate the pipes as soon as possible. Many challenges were overcome, including heavy rains experienced in Pretoria. Ten downpipes were rehabilitated, and the rainwater channels on the roof were sealed. Our teams worked 12 hours a day to reline the pipes, and this was all done during a heatwave. Overall, the client was satisfied and committed to additional projects in the winter months.

The Work:

Mr. van Schalkwyk experienced a failed fitting and pipe in a highly inconvenient location. 


The toilet outlet pipe was situated beneath his bath, necessitating redirection through a second bathroom before connecting to a stack.
